Courtney learned about Magic back in 1998 and it planted a little seed that would find itself resurfacing in 2012 after re-learning how to play MTG with her family via her local game store. She was already into the Comiccon style convention scene via her cosplay photography, so naturally the cosplays inspired her to begin creating her own costumes. Courtney has since made costumes from many genres but her first MTG character was Liliana of the Dark Realms. She has gone onto challenging herself to create articulating angel wings for Archangel of Tithe, and Serra Avenger, the merfolk planeswalker Kiora, genderbent Jace of Ixalan, Nicol Bolas the God Pharoh, and pirate Vraska. Besides cosplaying, Courtney had the opportunity to teach for WofC ‘Learn to Play’ at PAX Prime 2016 and since has a passion for teaching the game. She has organized events that incorporate Magic and is a Twitch Affiliate, streaming a variety of games including new MTGA beta.
Ashley Du, also known as Undeadu, is an International Cosplayer, Twitch Affiliate, Published Model and Special Effects Artist. She actually fell in love with the art of Magic before learning the game. As a costume designer, she was drawn to the amazing aesthetic of the game and incredible lore. She started playing and has been addicted ever since! Ashley’s love for MTG lead her to work in a shop that sold MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon TCG and board games. It’s here that she found her MTG family and learned just how wonderful the community can be.
Ashley loves making MTG cosplays because of the beautiful designs and the challenges each one presents her. She has started streaming her crafting process on Twitch – sometimes she streams unboxing and drafts too! She loves meeting people at cons and chatting about all things Magic, Pokemon TCG, comics, anime, crafting, gaming, crafting and scifi!
